Frequently Asked Questions

  • The race starts promptly at 8:00 AM on the Shrewsbury Common. Participants line up adjacent to the funeral home.

  • To avoid race-day crowds, we encourage participants to pick up their bibs and t-shirts the day before the race.  

    Wednesday, November 27: 2:30–5:30 p.m. at First Congregational Church (upper hall)  

    Thursday, November 28: 6:30–7:45 a.m. at First Congregational Church (upper hall)  

  • Yes, you can pick up bibs and race T-shirts for others in your group. We recommend taking advantage of early registration the day before the race to avoid race-day crowds.

  • People who register online will be guaranteed an event T-shirt. While we do our best to accommodate size preferences for event T-shirts, all shirts are available in fixed quantities and sizes. We cannot guarantee availability of specific sizes, and sizes will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Thank you for your understanding.

  • The Shrewsbury Turkey Trot for the Memory, a 5-mile run and 2-mile fun run/walk to support those affected by Alzheimer's disease.

  • No, there is no separate start area for walkers, but we ask that you line up according to your expected pace.

  • We are a family-friendly race and love kids, but the course is crowded, especially at the start. For safety, please be mindful of runners and follow instructions from our course guides.

  • We strongly recommend leaving your dogs at home. Due to the large number of participants, having dogs on the course is unsafe.

  • All entries are non-refundable.

  • To make your Turkey Trot experience smoother, we encourage participants to walk to the event if possible, as the town center will be crowded. Parking is limited but available at the following locations:

    • First Congregational Church

    • Shrewsbury Public Library

    • Spring Street School

    • Behind the old Beal School

    • Main & Maple

    • UMass Medical Offices, Main Street

  • The Turkey Trot for the Memory will take place rain, shine, or snow. We encourage participants to dress in layers appropriate for the weather. In extreme weather conditions, the race directors will work with the Town of Shrewsbury to ensure safety and make any necessary adjustments.

  • Yes, you can register in person at the times below. However, to guarantee a race t-shirt, please register online.  

    Wednesday, November 27: 2:00–5:30 p.m. at First Congregational Church (upper hall)

    Walk-in registration is $30. All bib pickups and registrations will close promptly at 7:45 a.m.

  • T-shirts are only guaranteed for those who register online. Please register early to secure a shirt. While we do our best to accommodate size preferences for event T-shirts, all shirts are available in fixed quantities and sizes. We cannot guarantee availability of specific sizes, and sizes will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Thank you for your understanding.
