A Family affair becomes a thanksgiving tradition

The late Justice Francis O’Connor was known for his dedication to public service on the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court and his active involvement in civic activities in Shrewsbury. His family fondly remembers him for his enduring love, even through a six-year struggle with Alzheimer’s disease.

In his honor, O’Connor’s daughter Jane Lizotte proposed formalizing their family’s tradition of running or walking 5 miles each Thanksgiving morning. The first Turkey Trot for the Memory took place in 2011 and has since grown to over 1,000 participants. It’s a testament to the unifying spirit of Thanksgiving and a wonderful way to support those affected by Alzheimer's disease.

We invite you to join us this year and be part of this meaningful event.
